Academic Success
“Achievement tests do not adequately capture character skills such as conscientiousness, perseverance, sociability, and curiosity, which are valued in the labor market, in school, and in many other domains.”
- James Heckman, Nobel Laureate
Why Character Skills are Foundational to Academics Vital
A student’s ability to learn and acquire the academic skills underlying common core standards and STEM skills depends heavily on the student’s non-academic skills like goal setting, emotional restraint and resilience. Progressions’ Success Centers provides students with the opportunity to acquire these foundational skills so they can achieve their best in the classroom, in the community and in the workplace.
